The Atabapo River is one of the smallest tributaries of the Orinoco River in Colombia and is part of the border between Colombia and Venezuela. The river originates from the low plain forest of the Amazon transitional community, with a total length of 185 kilometers. The basin includes a variety of ecosystems, such as seasonal grasslands, basement rain forests and basement corridor forests. There are many large rocks along the river, and the riverbed is light-colored river sand (or close to white river sand) with a particle diameter of 0. 1-1. 5 mm. On the riverbed, there are stones from the collapse of the big stones on the riverbank. Because it flows through the jungle, the riverbed also has a lot of organic matter such as roots, dead branches, tree trunks, fallen leaves, etc., and the release of tannin makes the water brown (“Heishui River”); the water temperature ranges from 27 to 31 °C and the river water is very soft (GH1-3).
